Manual Tracker

A Manual Tracker displays a user-defined title with a value that changes per Step. The title (prefix) stays the same across all Steps, but the value is stored independently for each Step, allowing different content in each phase of the process.

⚙️ How It Works

Prefix : Value

Examples:

  • Step 1: Prepared By : John Doe

  • Step 2: Prepared By : Jane Smith

  • Step 3: Prepared By : - (no value assigned yet)

The title remains constant (Prepared By), while the value changes depending on which Step is currently active.

📋 Step-Specific Values

Manual Tracker values are stored per Step. This means:

Step

Value

Step 1 — Fill

"Check inlet valve"

Step 2 — Heat

"Monitor temperature"

Step 3 — Drain

"Verify outlet pressure"

When the active Step changes, the tracker automatically loads the value for that Step.

🆕 Creating a Manual Tracker

  1. Open the Module Ribbon

  2. Select the Manual Tracker creation tool

  3. Enter a prefix (title text, e.g., "Reviewed By", "Notes", "Operator")

  4. Click a location in the drawing to place the tracker

🏭 Pharma Example: Per-Step Operator Instructions During WFI Distribution

When designing a WFI (Water for Injection) distribution module, Manual Trackers can carry step-specific operator instructions:

  1. Create a Manual Tracker with the prefix "Operator Action"

  2. In Step 1 — Pre-flush: enter "Verify WFI supply temperature >= 80C"

  3. In Step 2 — Distribution: enter "Monitor flow rate at FI-201"

  4. In Step 3 — Drain: enter "Confirm drain valve VP-110 fully open"

As the operator navigates through each step, the tracker automatically displays the relevant instruction — no need to look up separate documentation. This supports GMP compliance by embedding operator guidance directly into the P&ID.
