Notes Live Viewer | AseptSoft Documentation

The Notes Live Viewer displays all Notes in the Module organized by scope. It provides a centralized view of all annotations without needing to navigate through the drawing.

Access it from the Module Ribbon Data panel → Headers and Notes.

🗂️ Layout

The window is divided into three columns, each showing notes at a different scope level:

Column	Border Color	Content	Grouping
Module note	🔵 Blue	Notes visible across all Steps and Processes	Flat list, sorted alphabetically
Process note	🟡 Gold	Notes visible within a specific Process	Grouped by Process name
Phase note	⚪ Gray	Notes visible only in a specific Step	Grouped by Process name, then Step name

Each note type corresponds to a different visibility scope:

Note Type	Description
Phase note	Attached to a specific step — visible only when that step is active
Process note	Attached to a specific process — visible whenever that process is active
Module note	Global to the entire module — always visible
Highlighter	Visual emphasis on drawing — used for graphical annotations

🔄 Live Updates

The viewer is live-maintained — all changes reflect instantly:

Action	Effect
Create a note	Appears immediately in the corresponding column
Edit a note	Text updates in real-time
Delete a note	Removed from the list instantly
Switch Process/Step	Highlights change to reflect the active context

Click on any note in the viewer to automatically navigate to it:

Note Type	Navigation Action
Module note	Selects the note's MText entity in the drawing
Process note	Activates the Process, then selects the note
Phase note	Activates the Process and Step, then selects the note

This makes it easy to jump directly to any note's location in the P&ID from the centralized viewer.

Find specific notes	Look through grouped lists to find notes in specific Processes or Steps
Navigate to notes	Click any note to jump directly to its location in the drawing
Verify completeness	Check that all Steps and Processes have appropriate annotations

🏭 Pharma Example: Reviewing CIP Validation Notes

When preparing for a CIP validation review, the Notes Live Viewer lets you quickly audit all annotations:

Open the Notes Live Viewer from the Module Ribbon
Check the Process note column — verify that each CIP process (e.g., Pre-Rinse, Caustic Wash, Final Rinse) has its validation notes attached
Check the Phase note column — confirm that critical steps like "Caustic circulation" or "WFI final rinse" include step-specific operator instructions
Click any note to jump directly to its location on the P&ID for visual confirmation
