First time setup
The AseptSoft team fully supports you with this step. You don’t need to know it. This section is just for informative purposes.
In order to function, AseptSoft needs to read and understand the P&ID in the way the user designed it. This setup needs to be done only once, when AseptSoft has just been installed. It represents some settings that depend on how your PID was built, which tells AseptSoft how to perform this identification.
AseptSoft needs to extract the following information from the P&ID:
Which are the Engineering Items like Valves, Tank, Pumps, Heat exchangers, etc, and for each of them it needs to find the TAG
Which are the Instruments and for each of them it needs to find the TAG, and what type of data it retrieves (Temperature, Pressure, etc).
Which are the FluidSources, and for each of them it needs to know which is the Fluid it provides into the pipes
Which are the Off-Page Connectors, and for each of them it needs to know which is the pair Off-Page Connector (on the same PID or on another PID) that connects to it, such that the Fluidstream Simulations can bring fluid from one to its pair.
How do the geometries in the PID neighbour to each other, such that the fluid can correctly from pipe to pipe, or from pipe to Valve, etc.
Based on the PID software you are using, please refer to one of the following First time setup tutorials:
