The Home Ribbon (titled AseptSoft Home) appears when AseptSoft is activated for a drawing. It provides access to user profile, version control branches, module management, PID classification, and session lifecycle controls.
💡 Tip: This is your starting point — from here you select a branch, open or create a module, and set up your classification environment before diving into process design on the ⚙️ Module Ribbon.
👤 User Panel
Profile
The Profile split button opens the Login and Subscriptions window and provides access to the same support resources as the 🔌 AddIn Ribbon (documentation, technical support, feedback, services).
📁 Folders Panel
The Folders panel manages Version Control branches:
|
Control |
Description |
|---|---|
|
➕ Add Folder |
Creates a new branch |
|
🔀 Branches Gallery |
Dropdown selector to switch between branches — view and edit colleagues' work |
🏭 Pharma Example: Your validation engineer creates a branch called CIP-Optimization-Q2 to experiment with shorter rinse times. Meanwhile, you continue refining the SIP sequence on your own branch. Switch between branches at any time to review each other's progress without interfering.
📦 Modules Panel
The Modules panel manages Modules within the current PID:
➕ Create Module
The Create split button provides three options:
|
Option |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Create |
Creates a new module from scratch |
|
📂 Load from file |
Imports an existing module from a saved file |
|
🔗 Share with other PID |
Extends an existing module to include the current PID (multi-PID support) |
🏭 Pharma Example: You have a WFI (Water for Injection) distribution loop that spans two P&ID drawings. Use Share with other PID to extend the WFI module so both drawings share the same process data.
🗂️ Manage
Opens the module management window showing all modules in the current drawing.
📋 Modules Gallery
A dropdown selector showing all available modules. Click any module to open (activate) it, which triggers the ⚙️ Module Ribbon to appear.
🏷️ Classification Panel
The Classification panel manages how AutoCAD blocks are identified and classified as PID components:
|
Control |
Description |
|---|---|
|
🌐 Environment |
Select the active classification environment defining how blocks map to component types |
|
🔄 Reload |
Performs a full reopen of the active module, reloading all classification data |
|
🔍 Block Properties |
Opens the instance properties editor for the selected block |
|
📐 Class Properties |
Opens the unified class properties editor |
Class Properties Split Button
|

Description |
|---|---|
|
📐 Class Properties |
Unified class properties editor |
|
🔗 Class Grouping |
Configure class grouping and token builder patterns |
|
📜 Legacy Class Properties |
Original class properties editor |
|
📜 Legacy Token Builder |
Original token builder interface |
💡 How it works: The Classification system determines which AutoCAD blocks are recognized as Engineering Items (valves, instruments, sources) and Off-Page Connectors, and how their tags and attributes are built from block properties.
🚪 Session Panel
The Session panel provides graduated options for closing drawings, the project, or fully shutting down AseptSoft — without needing to close AutoCAD itself.
Close Split Button
Click the Close dropdown (gray ✕ icon) to access four levels of closure:
|
Option |
What It Does |
|---|---|
|
Close for this PID |
Closes AseptSoft for the current drawing only — the active PID becomes inactive while the drawing remains open in AutoCAD |
|
Close for all PIDs |
Closes AseptSoft for every open drawing in the project |
|
Close Project |
Closes the entire AseptSoft project, releasing all module data and PID associations |
|
Quit AseptSoft |
Fully shuts down AseptSoft for the session — closes the project, releases your license, and terminates the plugin. You would need to restart AseptSoft to use it again |
⚠️ Important: These options are separate from AutoCAD's own close/quit commands. Closing a PID in AseptSoft does not close the AutoCAD drawing file — it only deactivates AseptSoft's features for that drawing. Similarly, Quit AseptSoft does not close AutoCAD itself.
🏭 Pharma Example: You've finished reviewing CIP sequences and want to release your AseptSoft license so a colleague can use it on their workstation. Use Quit AseptSoft to cleanly shut down and free the license — without closing AutoCAD or losing your drawing work.
